Crossing St. Louis Bay in Duluth
Heading south at 6 pm, I was riding Amtrak 10, the North Star to St. Paul and caught shot going over the Interstate twin swing bridges that used to cross the bay from Duluth. They were both deemed a navigation hazard in the mid 80s and were expensive for the BN railroad due to double bridge tenders, 24 hours a day. The entire structure was removed about 1988-89 and there is no trace of its existence left!
