| Here is page two of a six-page camera study celebrating the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Centipede" locomotives. It was published originally in the May-June 1973 issue of "PC Railroader" magazine, page 24. All of these locomotives were built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as 3,000 horsepower BP-60's for passenger service, but later regeared and downgraded to 2,500 horsepower BH-50's for freight and helper service. Top Photo: Both are BH-50's rated at 2,500 horsepower each. On the right, #5827 was built in October of 1948 and retired in September of 1962. On the left, #5817 was built in December of 1947 and retired in September of 1962. Middle Photo: On the left is PRR engine #5825, a BP-60 built in May of 1947, rated at 3,000 horsepower, and retired in April of 1962. Bottom Photo: Both are BH-50's rated at 2,500 horsepower each.
