BO 2-6-6-2 #7500 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
Nice example of an Alco-Schenectady 2-6-6-2 Mogul Mallet type steam locomotive built originally as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh #700. In 1932, the loco was absorbed into the B&O roster and renumbered BO #7500.It lasted until being scrapped in September of 1949 after nearly 35 total years of service. Original specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressuer, 23.5x37" high pressure cylinders, 37x32" low pressure cylinders, engine wt of 429,000 lb and an impressive 80,000 lb tractive force. BO 2-6-6-2 #7504 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
Long and powerful are two words that describe this Alco-Schenectady 2-6-6-2 built in July of 1914 originally as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh $704. . In 1932, it was added officially to the B&O roster as #7504. The loco lasted until April of 1951 when it was sold for scrap. That must have made a huge pile of scrap metal! Original specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressuer, 23.5x37" high pressure cylinders, 37x32" low pressure cylinders, engine wt of 429,000 lb and an impressive 80,000 lb tractive force. Baltimore & Ohio RR 2-6-6-2 7512, ex-BR&P #712
Description:
This Brooks Locomotive built in 1918 as a class KK-4b had 57" drivers, created 200 psi with an engine weight of 445,000 lb and an engine + tender wheelbase of 86.48'. One massive unit. While searching, I found the photo was taken by Howard W. Ameling.

BO 2-6-6-2 #7527 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:
The massive Baltimore & Ohio 2-6-6-2 "Mallet Mogul" type steam locomotive #7527 was built by Alco-Brooks in May of 1918 originally as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh #727 (serial #58480). After being absorbed into the B&O roster, it was renumbered B&O #7527 as seen in this photo. The loco was especially built for slow drags of long strings of coal cars and performed well doing so. After 32 years of service, the loco was finally retired and scrapped in 1950. Specs = 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x32 and 37x32" cylinders, engine weight of 437,000 lb, tractive effort of 80,000 lb. No photographer or exact date in 1948 was given for the photo.

BO 2-6-6-2 #7535 - Baltimore & Ohio RR
Description:
The B&O articulated #7535 sits with steam built up and a loaded tender, just waiting for its next orders. Although no information was listed on the photo, this very well may be East Salamanca, NY, where many of the 2-6-6-2's worked. Built by Alco-Brooks in 1918 for the Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh RR, it fell under B&O control in 1930 with the takeover of BR&P. Specifics - class KK-4c, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 23.5x32" set pf cylinders, 37x32" set of cylinders, engine weight of 445,000 lb, tractive effort of 75,112 lbs. All 55 locos in the class were retired by 1951. No photographer listed and the date has been arbitrarily set and it appears to be a later reprint..

No date, location or photographer listed for this photo. The location could very well be either Ricker, PA or East Salamanca, NY, with the low mountain range in the background.
