| This was one of approximately 240 2-8-2 Mikados on the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific roster. Built by Alco-Brooks in June of 1926, this loco was a central player in both passenger and freight service. Specs - K-64b, 63" drivers, 215 psi boiler pressure, 28x30" cylinders, engine wt of 355,000 lb and tractive effort of 68,227. With a booster added the te went up 11,244 lb more. The loco was retired and sold for scrap in October of 1952 after nearly 26 years of service. No date was given for the phoot which was taken by R.H. Carlson. |
