CSS 2-D-D-2 #801 & 803 - Chicago, South Shore & South Bend
This boxcab was built by Alco-GE originally for New York Central in 1930 as NYC #303. After serving the NYC for nearly 25 years, it was sold to the South Shore Line in 1955. It was rebuilt and then served the CSS until being replaced by diesels in the 1980's. A rail fan listed only as "BH" on the photo took this at the Carroll Avenue station in Michigan City sometime in the late 1970's.
