MP 0-8-0 #9785 - Missouri Pacific         
This rugged, massive locomotive looks more like a 2-8-2 Mikado missing its front and trailing trucks than a yard switcher. Built by the Lima Company in April of 1929, it served for nearly 32 years before it was retired in October of 1951 a the Sedalia, MO, yard. No date was given for the photo so an approximate one was used. Specs - 51" drivers, 198 psi boiler pressure, 25x28" cylinders, engine wt of 232,000 lb, tractive effort of 57,750 lb. C.C.
