Marianchuk. Here is an original photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken in Wilmington, Delaware, c. 1983. Shown here is Amtrak engine #4934, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) electric built in Juniata as Pennsylvania Railroad number "4917" during June of 1942, rated at 4,620 horsepower, acquired by Amtrak and renumbered "4934," and now just rusts away near Oneonta, New York. Note the faded Conrail logo on the emergency exit door. The name of the erstwhile engineman is Attila Varady. |
