SSW 6892 on SP ballast train

Randy Curlin	General	SP started contracting ballast off the former UP in the late 1980s. SP train originated in Roseville and then proceeded to UP connection at Binney Jct at Marysville. A UP crew would take it to the Elsey pit for loading. Usually a 60 car train would be ready the following day. Train would be handed off to SP at Binney Jct. Lots of radio chatter between SP and UP. Never got over to get a video of this neat operation.	12/19/2022 12:20:44 PM
