"World Famous Horseshoe Curve," Page 21, 1973         
Here is page 21 of a 64-page booklet published by Harry P. Albrecht entitled "World Famous Horseshoe Curve, Altoona, Pennsylvania Railroad." It was first issued in September of 1973. Top Photo: Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #3733 and #1339. Both are K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacifics" built in Juniata. #3733 was constructed during February of 1920 and retired in April of 1956, while #1339 was built in May of 1918 and retired in February of 1956. Bottom Photo, Partial Caption: "Train No. [17], the westbound 'Pittsburgher,' headed by two Class M-1 locomotives." Both photos taken by H.W. Pontin in July of 1940.
