Refilling The Tanks At Red Butte
4004 idles at Red Buttes as the crew refills the engine with water. Due to delays on the hill, 4004 burned through water to make a straight run impossible, so the train was forced to stop here for a top-up. Trains did not usually stop at Red Buttes for water.
