| Dziobko. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by John Dziobko, Jr., that was taken at the East Altoona Roundhouse in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 16 August 1956. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4393, an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during February of 1923, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in April of 1942, and retired in August of 1959 after 36 years of faithful service. This Roundhouse has 50 working stalls! |
