| UP 4014 rests in Laramie in August of 1948. After retirement, 4014 will be donated to Pomona, where it will remain until UP purchased it back and restored it to operating condition beginning in 2016. As part of the restoration, 4014 became the second Big Boy to be converted to oil. Its firebox grates were removed, and replaced with an oil pan. The firebox grates were kept, and later sent to Milwaukee Road 261. |
