Volkmer. Here is an original 35mm color slide by William D. Volkmer that was taken in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 29 October 1959. Prominent here (R to L) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #4335 and three more locomotives whose road numbers are not recorded. #4335 is an I-1SA (2-10-0) "Decapod" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works as an I-1S during December of 1922, rebuilt in Juniata as an I-1SA in January of 1943, and retired in October of 1959 after 37 years of faithful service. In this context, they've been prepared for movement to the Recycling Center. Partially visible in the distance is the East Altoona Coaling Tipple.
