NS OLIVER YARD         
On Sunday afternoon 8 March 1992, Norfolk Southern GP38 2825 was pulling the rear portion of intermodal train No. 221 into the railroad’s OLIVER YARD in New Orleans, while a passenger train was parked two tracks over. (The forward section of train No. 221 consisted of stack cars, and they were on their way to the Southern Pacific behind three SP SD40T-2’s.) The passenger train consisted of GP60 units 7114 and 7108 with 10 cars: sleeper 13 GEORGIA, lounge 21 WEST VIRGINIA; office cars 6 ATLANTA, 3 CLAYTOR LAKE and 8 TENNESSEE; sleeping cars 9 ALABAMA, 12 INDIANA and 11 ILLINOIS; dining car 18 GENERAL WILLIAM MAHONE and theater car 23 BUENA VISTA. Dining car 18 was renamed NEW ORLEANS in 2015.
