Tom Beckett General Looking at the pair of engines here, it looks like the 4022 was working on the NY & Long Branch-that's NJ Transit's North Jersey Coast Line to Bay Head-and is running lite from the engine facility, across the tracks and to the east of the station(behind the photographer) down to the pocket track where the E's held while waiting for the Bay Head train to arrive from Penn Station in New York, which, at this date, would have been handled by a GG 1. The G cut off, crossed over, and went to the engine facility, and the E's came out of the pocket track, coupled on, made air and steam connections, then headed down the shore. The 4022 ran in this service for several years, prior to becoming one of the CR Executive units. It was originally EL/Erie 833, renumbered into CR's PC numbering scheme. 7/28/2020 5:14:33 AM
