CR GG1 #4887
Conrail conductor Ken Taylor caught this massive GG1 sitting in the scrap line at the Enola, PA, yard. Built by PRR Altoona shops and GE in April of 1939, the loco pulled many a passenger car and later many freight cars in its 41 years of service to the Pennsylvania RR, Penn Central and finally Conrail before retirement in February of 1980.
