Grain empties  Contributor's Pick!
An 81 car northbound train of covered hoppers rolls toward Kansas City and more corn. The Belle scheme was making serious inroads to the fleet at this time, but most of the existing fleet was still gray. Seemed ever time I'd see a train with Belles, there would be a gray unit leading. It's only in the last two years or so that the AC44's have been getting repainted, while it seems most of the SD 70's have been done.
