Byerly. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Fred Byerly that was taken in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, c. 1955. The photographer is not identified. Photo Caption: "Baldwin DR-6-2000, 2000-hp, at Pittsburgh, Pa." Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5783, a BP-20 built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in November of 1948, rated at 2,000 horsepower, and retired in November of 1964 after just 16 years of passenger service. This photo comes from a color slide set entitled "Diesels On The Pennsylvania" that's produced and distributed by Blackhawk Films of Davenport, Iowa (819-24).

warren evans General Tom PRR didn't start installing the large steam style numberboards until 1955 And with all the dents on the nose and the entire condition of the unit this photo much later around 1957. 5/24/2023 8:25:52 PM
