"John Bull"
"John Bull", one of the earliest steam locomotives in the United States, was imported from England in 1831 for use on the first rail link between New York and Philadelphia along the Camden & Amboy Railroad. "John Bull" reduced the time it took to complete this trip from two days to just five hours. The locomotive was retired in 1866 and in 1981, was actually run under its own power commemorating the locomotive's 150th anniversary. It is currently on static display at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History.
