Once a princess, now a hard working old girl, this former Santa Fe Warbonnet SD 75I is now part of the PRLX lease fleet. A number of these units have turned up on KCS lately, mostly in bulk commodity service. I remember when these were the queens of the high iron, rolling big fast trains across the Transcon. Hard to believe that was over 20 years ago. Theyre still on the main, just not making the 70 MPH they used to, a testament to the longevity of EMDs engineering. This was on a northbound at CP Flint Creek, just picked up from its duty as a DPU on an AEPX coal train, now in the plant.
