Steve Young General It's one of the many Herzog Maintenance Of Way locomotives. Most are built around donor Geeps, although an early one (MPM VIII) was built around an SW600. You'll notice the road number and reporting mark (HZGX 210) are different to the MPM 40 you can see stencilled on the side. (I notice they've gone to using digits rather than the Roman numerals they used to use). So I guess we have no option but to call this an MPM 40. The frame looks to be new, with only the trucks donated. Very few of Herzog's units are the same as each other! 5/8/2020 1:48:46 AM
