There was about an hour between 1730 and 1830 where there were no westbound trains scheduled on the Main Line between Mineola and Queens. The LIRR used that time to turn line into a double barreled shotgun for eastbounds, using both tracks for them. Heres one of the trains that passes Mineola on its way to Port Jeff running past the station wrong main. behind the engine that would later be named the Walter L Schlager, in honor of the retired LIRR president.
