NH 4-8-2 #3560 - New York, New Haven & Hartford (New Haven)  Contributor's Pick!
Beautiful and massive - best descriptive phrases for this 1928 Alco-Schenectady built Mountain-type locomotive. As one of the late steam engines to be built, it could generate a whopping 265 psi boiler pressure for its pistons. Although the location was not listed, I believe this appears to be the Providence roundhouse - can anyone confirm or deny? Date is approximate and no photographer was listed unfortunately.

Stu Nicholson General Its possible this could be the roundhouse at New Haven. I believe the NYNH&H used these to haul navy freights from New Haven to Maybrook, NY and up the Connecticut River into northern New England. 8/24/2014 2:51:01 PM
