ERIE 4-6-0 #970  Contributor's Pick!
This is a stunning ten-wheeler with the white walls and gleaning steam chest, obviously the pride of the Erie RR at the time. Specifics - 69" drivers, 200 psi, 19" x 26" cylinders. Unfortunately no photographer was credited with taking this great action shot in an undisclosed location. With Dave Korhammer's help (see comment below) and based on the location of the Union Terminal Cold Storage Company (partial name in background), I now believe that the location is Jersey City, NJ.

Dave Korhammer General Nice shot! My guess for location would be just outside Erie's Jersey City, NJ terminal, across from NYC. :) 8/23/2014 4:09:46 PM
