RDG 2-10-0 #1129 - Philadelphia & Reading  Contributor's Pick!
This is one of only four Decapods built for the Reading by Baldwin in 1916. It was a J-1sa class with small 52" drivers, generating 180 psi in boiler pressure for its 25"x28" cylinders. The engine wt was 208,400 lb and it was able to produce a respectable tractive effort of 51,490 lb. After realizing that the Decapod just didn't fit the Reading motive needs, all four were scrapped in March of 1935. Date is approximate. Bud Laws photo
