| On July 3, 2011, a BNSF Railway train, heading from Barstow to San Diego, patiently waits on the Olive Subdivision at CP Maple. The freight has already watched Metrolink train 665 (San Juan Capistrano to Los Angeles) pass by, and now waits for Amtrak "Pacific Surfliner" 784 (Goleta to San Diego) to clear the junction. The 16-car BNSF train, led by ES44DCs 7731, 7715 and 7705, will follow the Amtrak train and meet Metrolink 860 (Oceanside to San Bernardino), waiting at the Orange station, once it gets on the Orange Subdivision. |
