NOPB Baldwin S12d         
NOPB 61, Baldwin S12, sn 76120, at engine yard off Tchoupitoulas. The NOPB began repainting their switchers to a red scheme in 1971, about the same time the remaining Baldwin diesels were retired. Engine 62, likely was the only Baldwin repainted to red and was sold to Cargill in June 1975.

Earl Hampton General I remember when I was editor of NONRHS' newsletter Open Track, James Selzer had a column called "Spring Switch Meditations" and one article was called "Red ink to red paint" and it was about the NOPB painting all of their engines bright red! 4/14/2010 11:32:36 AM
