| Burlington Northern Railroad class ARS-3 4068 in the dead line at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in September 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. This locomotive was built as Great Northern RS3 231 in June 1953 (c/n 80500) and was sold to the Spokane Portland & Seattle on April 1, 1959, becoming SP&S 83. It became BN ARS-3 4068 and was retired August 18, 1980, sold to Chrome Crankshaft on September 8, 1980. Note the dual headlights, the lower one having been painted over. |
