The conductor in UP 3427 looks on as a UP signal maintainer is examining the tracks at Queen Ave. crossing to determine why the crossing gates have been activated for the past few hours. While common in the Midwest, it is rather unusual to see an SD40-2 leading a manifest freight on the Brooklyn Sub.
