Description:  With the success that Seaboard Air Line had with the original 1918 Alco-Richmond decapods (called Russians by SAL) originally built for the Russian Government just before their empire was overthrown, SAL ordered two more batches of them from Baldwin. Specs - D-2 class, 56" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 24x28" cylinders, engine weight of 212,000 lb, tractive effort of 46,512 lb. unknown photographer

Title:  SAL 2-10-0 #534 - Seaboard Air Line
Description:  Built by Baldwin in 1930, this 2-10-0 decapod was caught sitting in the scrap line at Sharpsburg, PA, by photographer Charles E. Winters. Specs - serial #61234, D-3 class, 56" drivers, 190 psi boiler pressure, 24x28" cylinders, engine weight of 212,000 lb, tractive effort of 46,512 lb. The class was retired between 1952-53 but several were sold to Georgia Gainseville Midland.
