Title:  CIL 2-8-0 #283 - Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville (Monon)
Description:  With Hoosier pride, I post this nice older print of a 1911 Alco-Brooks 2-8-0 Consolidation built in May of 1911 originally as CIL 288 but renumbered to CIL 283 in 1911. The crew was caught posing in their loco by an unknown photographer.as it stood in the Indianapolis yard. Specifics - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 209,200 lb, tractive effort of 43,305 lb, superheated in the 1920's.

Title:  CIL 2-8-0 #284 - Chicago, Indianapolis & Louisville (Monon)
Description:  With Hoosier pride, I post another nice older print of an Alco-Brooks 2-8-0 Consolidation built in May of 1911 as CIL #289 (serial #49949). an H-6 class member in the Monon roster. It was renumbered to CIL in 1911 to CIL 284 and served until being retired on 8/14/1941, one of the earlier onew to retire. Presumedly it was scrapped. According to the back of the photo, the loco stands outside the shops in Michigan City, photographed by an unknown photographer. With the help of Seth Lakin (see comment below), the location has been correctly identified as Monon, IN. Specifics - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 22x30" cylinders, engine weight of 209,200 lb, tractive effort of 43,305 lb, superheated in the 1920's.
