BO 2-8-8-2 #7316 - Baltimore & Ohio
Title:  BO 2-8-8-2 #7316 - Baltimore & Ohio
Description:  Built by Alco-Brooks in March of 1918, this massive 2-8-8-2 "Chesapeake" type steam locomotive was originally as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh #800. B&O usually referred to these as "EE-2's" rather than "Chesapeakes". The loco was absorbed into the B&O roster in 1938 and renumbered BO 7316. It lasted in service until being scrapped in December of 1950 after 32 years of total service. Original specs - XX class, 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 28x32" high pressure cylinders, 44x32" low pressure cylinders, engine wt of 569,000 lb, and an impressive tractive effort of 113,000 lb. Description:  Originally built by Alco-Brooks in April of 1918 as Buffalo, Rochester & Piuttsburgh 2-8-8-2 "Chesapeake" type steam locomotive #806, it was renumbered in 1932 to B&O #7322. It served until being scrapped in March of 1951 after 33 years. Description:  With a full head of steam, BO 2-8-8-2 #7323 is ready to roll! Built by Alco-Brooks in August of 1923, it was originally Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh #807 but was renumbered in 1932 to BO #7323 when BRP was absorbed into the B&O roster. It remained in service until being sold for scrap in June of 1951.
