Mississippi Central 2-8-2 124
Title:  Mississippi Central 2-8-2 124
Description:  Mississippi Central 2-8-2 124 was at Hattiesburg near the end of its career on the MSC. The Mikado had been built by Alco’s Brooks Works (63168) in December 1923 as J.J. Newman Lumber Co. 20 and was purchased by the railroad in December 1935. The MSC had purchased four identical locomotives, the 120-123, in July and November 1923, so it fit right in. The 124 was sold to the Green Brothers Gravel Co. in June 1953 for use at Franklinton, Louisiana and it was scrapped in September 1965.
