Chione. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide via Al Chione that was taken in Shamokin, Pennsylvania, in January of 1956. The photographer is not identified. Shown here (L to R) are Pennsylvania Railroad engines #7638 and another locomotive whose number is not recorded. #7638 is an H-10S (2-8-0) "Consolidated" built by the American Locomotive Company as number "8437" in May of 1916, renumbered "9905" in 1917, renumbered "7638" in 1953, and retired in November of 1956 after 40 years of faithful service. |
