Shown here is PRR engine #8906, an AS-16M road switcher built by the American Locomotive Company in 1951 and rated at 1,600 horsepower. This photo was taken from the old Union Street Bridge. Note the string of H-21A hopper cars a couple of tracks over; they were on their way to the Samuel Rea Shop for rebuilding/reconditioning.

It is pulling a short string of gondola cars from Sender's Junk Yard into the Hollidaysburg Yards. This photo was taken at the Bedford Street Crossing, next to the Passenger Station. Note the three train crew members: one at the right, one on the front of the engine, and one who has just thrown the switch for the train to cross over to the other track.
