PRR 5091, D-16SB, c. 1934
Title:  PRR 5091, D-16SB, c. 1934
Description:  Consler. Here is a photo by an unidentified photographer that was taken near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1934. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5091, a D-16SB (4-4-0) "American" built in Juniata as a D-16B during 1908, rebuilt as a D-16SB in January of 1917, and retired in January of 1935 after 27 years of faithful service. It looks to me like this once-proud passenger engine has been demoted to work/wire train service.
