"Goin for a reload"
Title:  "Goin for a reload"
Description:  After trying (and failing) to intercept 59 again in Flora, we catch a northbound empty tank train with a DC gevo leading a pair of SD70M-2s. With NS having gotten rid of their M-2s, this is the first time Ive seen one, let alone two.

"Mystery Tanks"
Title:  "Mystery Tanks"
Description:  After the northbound empty ethanol was out of the way, the CN sent what appeared to be a loaded ethanol train through Flora. Upon further inspection however, these tank cars were marked for chemical and acid use rather than ethanol. This is one of few runs that carries chemicals between Memphis and points in Louisiana.

"EMDs with empties"
Title:  "EMDs with empties"
Description:  Next up through Flora was this empty grain train (with small manifest block) with a pair of CN SD75Is in the lead. With GE being the norm for what I catch in Georgia, it was nice to get some EMD action for a change.

"18 hours of heritage, PT.1"
Title:  "18 hours of heritage, PT.1"
Description:  After finishing the day in Flora, I go to explore a siding close to my hotel in Yazoo City, what I came up on was a big surprise in the form of GTW 5848. GTW 5848 was one of the few units that was built for the PLE and was acquired by the GTW in 1985, originally sporting a black and white style paint.

"Blue skies still shine for the good track road"
Title:  "Blue skies still shine for the good track road"
Description:  More of GTW 5848 and IC 9620. With their numbers slowly dwindling, its rather nice to catch a GTW still on the rails, even if its offline

"Chemical pumpkins"
Title:  "Chemical pumpkins"
Description:  Final day on the Yazoo Sub again finds us in Yazoo City waiting for a southbound chemical train to come by. The lead motor is BNSF 8750, which was seen the previous day along with CN 2614 on a northbound manifest. However behind that powerset was an even better catch.

"The last of the standard cabs"
Title:  "The last of the standard cabs"
Description:  Trailing behind the previous days manifest power was a nice surprise featuring a pair of standard cab EMD SD70s, with one of them featuring its original Illinois Central "Death Star" paint scheme. This was a first for me to catch one of these Death Stars, let alone on home rails.

"18 hours of heritage PT.2"
Title:  "18 hours of heritage PT.2"
Description:  Full view of IC 1015. Ironically enough, I own an HO Scale model of this exact road number, who would've thought I would get it on this trip. This was also the second unit that I had seen in its original paint in about 12 hours, and it wasn't going to be the last.

Title:  "Faded but still proud"
Description:  Part of the chemical train was another nice catch in the form of this ICG grain car still sporting its full (albeit faded) ICG paint.

"18 hours of heritage, PT.3"
Title:  "18 hours of heritage, PT.3"
Description:  It seemed that the heritage didnt want to end on this day, as not only did I get an IC Death Star, upon reaching Jackson, MS I caught BLE SD40T-3 907 working the yard with an SD40-2W still sporting its zebra stripe paint. This was probably the rarest catch on the trip, as most of the time these BLE units are in pusher service or used on ore trains in the Great Lakes, so its rare to catch one all the way in Mississippi.

"The Jackson Tunnel"
Title:  "The Jackson Tunnel"
Description:  Another shot of 907. Not only was this the first BLE unit I caught, but this is also the first tunnel motor I caught. Its a nice piece of history, pretty clean too.

"18 hours of heritage, PT.4"
Title:  "18 hours of heritage, PT.4"
Description:  As if the GTW, BLE and IC werent enough, I venture down to the CN Yard in Hattiesburg, MS and find yet another IC Death Star, this time IC GP40R 3107. This would end the heritage catches for the day, with that said, this was my fourth heritage unit in less than 18 hours, I dont think ill ever have the same luck that I had on this trip ever again.
