Title:  Nebraska Zephyr Observation Car 225 Juno
Description:  This is the observation car 224 "Juno" of the five-car articulated train set of the Nebraska Zephyr at the Illinois Railway Museum. They had rolled the train partially out of the train shed to display it so there was plenty of room to get behind the train.

Amtrak 4939 GG1 Three Quarter View
Title:  Amtrak 4939 GG1 Three Quarter View
Description:  Three quarter view of the Amtrak 4939 at the Illinois Railway Museum. Certainly a more bland paint scheme than the original when on the Pennsylvania. But I suppose it is easier to read the number in this scheme.

Inside CTA 4000 Series car 4412
Title:  Inside CTA 4000 Series car 4412
Description:  Inside CTA 4000 series car 4412 at the Illinois Railway Museum. Many museum visitors riding that day. I rode the 4000 series on the Lake Street El many times and remember when they were so crowded you had to stand. Those white loop handles you see hanging down at the end of the car were for standees to hang onto to.

Frisco 1630 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive
Title:  Frisco 1630 2-10-0 Steam Locomotive
Description:  St. Louis - San Francisco (Frisco) 2-10-0 steam locomotive 1630 at the Illinois Railway Museum. These had originally been built in 1918 as 5 foot gauge for Russia but the order was cancelled due to the Russian Revolution. They were modified to run on standard gauge by putting wider tires on them. Its a little hard to see in this photo, but the tires overhang the outside edges of the rails somewhat because of this.

Description:  CTA 4000 series cars 4412 and 4321 at the Illinois Railway Museum. Note the wood framed "Ravenswood" route sign hanging on hooks at a front window. In later years, these tended to disappear to souvenir hunters and were replaced with plain black lettering on white cardboard placed inside behind that window.

CTA 4000 Series Car 4412 Power Truck
Title:  CTA 4000 Series Car 4412 Power Truck
Description:  Each CTA 4000 Series car used two different types of trucks: The power truck was 6 6" wheelbase with 34" wheels. The trailer truck (the car is not a trailer, just this truck as being unpowered) was 5 6" wheelbase with 31" wheels. This is the power truck and the top of the wheel is relatively near the car bottom. At the Illinois Railway Museum.

Title:  CTA 4000 Series Car 4412 Trailer Truck

The trailer truck (the car is not a trailer, just this truck which is unpowered) was 5 6" wheelbase with 31" wheels. This is the trailer truck and the top of the wheel is relatively distant from the car bottom due to its smaller wheels compared to the power truck that has larger diameter wheels.
