HVRM 27
Title:  HVRM 27
Description:  This 44-tonner was built by Whitcomb in August of 1941 (serial #60105) for the munitions contractor Day & Zimmerman as their #4-44, it was sold to the US Army as #7308 during WWII. Next it was sold to McGraw Construction Co, then bounced to the Chicago Gravel Co of South Elgin, IL, as their #509. Then it was traded to the Port of Indiana in 1984 and painted red, white & blue as their #1776. Finally it was sold to the Hoosier Valley RR Museum as their #27 in 1988. Title:  "Rock Island 52554"
Description:  This caboose is displayed at the Rock Island Depot Museum at Eldon, IA. It is actually ex-CC 199036, exx-ICG 199036, exxx-GM&O 2636, exxxx-GM&O 2710, nee-Alton C3055. This group of riveted-side cars was built in the 1946-47 time period by Western Steel for the Alton Railroad. GM&O had them rebuilt 1966-67 with welded extended vision cupolas added by International Car. The number 52554 is the USPS zip code for Eldon, IA.

Title:  "Rock Island 1275"
Description:  When the Rock Island depot museum in Eldon, IA decided to obtain a locomotive for display, they acquired this GP7m from NRE - it's ex-BNSF 3822, exx-AT&SF 1312, nee-AT&SF GP7 2830 (17641, 12/52). NRE cosmetically restored it as Rock Island 1275, and BNSF transported to their siding at Agency, IA for offloading.

Description:  A couple of nice-looking orange switchers; MILW HH660 1603 and MILW H10-44 760. The 760 had half again as much horsepower, 1000 vs. 660, but roughly the same tractive effort, 72,000 lbs vs. 69,000 lbs.

Description:  One of the "Russian" decapods orphaned by the Bolshevik Revolution and assigned to the Frisco by the USRA. Frisco had twenty of these engines, SLSF 1613-1632. Amazingly, five were preserved, including this one at IRM.
